Sora is the actual winner of the 2015 Smash Fighter vote

You obviously know it by now, but the last playable DLC character in Smash Ultimate is Sora from Kingdom Hearts. For many years, he has been a highly requested character to join the game list, but Sakura explained in today’s Smash demo how much fans want him to participate in the game.

Sakurai explained in the Smash presentation, “Six years ago, there was a poll called Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot. The top choice for the most popular new fighter was Sora. When voting, we were still with us at the time. Mr. Iwata had a conversation, and we decided not to disclose the result.”

Not only that, but people also discovered that when Bayonetta was announced as Smash on Wii U and 3DS in 2015, she was exposed as a “winner.” However, they pointed out that she was ranked number one in Europe and the top 5 in the United States, and she was ranked number one in the world “in a negotiable and achievable role” in the vote. Through today’s role reveal, we now know why they say so.
