Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Minecraft Steve and Alex Amiibo Delayed, Min Min Amiibo to Release This April

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may finish getting new content after Sora’s release last year, but there are still some things in the game, like the release of a new amiibo.

ARMS fighter Minmin joined the Ultimate lineup back in 2020, and now, we finally know when her game amiibo will release, and luckily you won’t have to wait too long. Nintendo announced on Twitter over the weekend that the rather good-looking Min Min amiibo will be released on April 29. You can sneak a peek at it in the Nintendo video below:

As you can see, Minmin looks great as an amiibo. However, after Min Min amiibo’s release date was revealed, some not-so-good news: The Steve and Alex Minecraft amiibos have been delayed.

“Steve & Alex Smash Bros. amiibo was previously announced for a Spring 2022 launch. Unfortunately, due to logistical and production delays, the release has unfortunately been pushed back to later in 2022.”

It sounds like Steve and Alex will still release as amiibo sometime this year, so at least they haven’t been pushed back to 2023. After Steve and Alex, you can expect a Sephiroth amiibo, based on a figure or two from Pyra and Mythra, Kazuya Mishima’s amiibo, and of course the last amiibo from the game’s last DLC fighter, Sora.

While you wait for these, read how Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai said the game’s tweaks were complete after the December balance update released, and then check out the story on how Sakurai isn’t thinking about a sequel but isn’t ruling it out.
