After the delay earlier this year, Swery’s The Good Life finally has a release date. The new trailer above breaks the news and shows all the dog piss and cat scratching antics you will see when “The Good Life” is released on October 15.
According to the peculiar ideas of director Swery of “Fatal Premonition” and “D4: Dark Dreams Are Not Dead”, “The Good Life” seems to be a more colorful, light-hearted adventure through the English countryside. You play as Naomi Hayward, a New York City photographer, visiting the sleepy Rainforest Village. A mysterious client asks you to investigate some evil events, because you are in debt and you have nowhere to refuse. When you find a corpse in the river with a sword stuck in its abdomen, things will quickly get worse.
Then it’s all about the citizens of Rainy Woods becoming cats or dogs at night. This is a Swery game, you guys. Naomi will eventually have the opportunity to bark or meow in the rainforest, pee on the sidewalk and hunt mice. The new trailer also shows some weird characters, including Sherlock Holmes, a hippie named Woodland Witch, and a sheep-faced nobleman.
Understandably, “Good Life” has some huge Hot Fuzz atmosphere, and Naomi is working hard to uncover the mystery of this weird idyllic village. It will land on Steam, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in October.
