Tantalus is the development studio that brought the beloved The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to the Wii U console and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD to the Switch family of systems. The Twilight Princess HD port was a huge success for fans, and many have been calling on Nintendo to bring the game to the updated Nintendo Switch system. However, Tantalus CEO Tom Crago recently appeared in Silicon Podcast Segment And said that Nintendo has not approached his company to port “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” HD to the Nintendo Switch. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, but it’s not a good sign either.
“The way it works with our friends out there is that we take any opportunity to develop one of their games. There’s always a conversation between our two companies. Usually there’s a little bit of time between titles, maybe also There were other ideas that were kicked out, but in the case of Skyward Sword, after a while, then the email came: ‘Are you interested in considering taking Skyward Sword to Switch? The answer is of course: “Yes, we do. “Then we had a conversation with Nintendo about what that might look like, and we finally got started. So in terms of how Twilight (on the Wii U) came about, it was similar in a lot of senses.”
“No, look, we’d obviously love to do that, but it’s not a priority for Nintendo — or at least not the conversations they have with us.”
