It’s been a while since we heard the news of Tchia last time, Tchia is a tropical mind jumping adventure game reminiscent of games such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Set in New Caledonia, the player controls a young girl with the magical ability to take over animals and items. The new trailer that premiered in today’s PlayStation Showcase provides another compelling perspective for this interesting game.
The details of the story of the little protagonist are not yet known, but the developer Awaceb describes it as a “journey of discovery and growth.” We did see a scene where an elder asked the girl to find a character named Meavora, who obviously had evil in his heart. Dealing with this will require her to evoke the power of her living in the animal’s body.
The trailer shows how smooth the player can jump from one creature to the next. A scene shows a girl taking over a dove and soaring on the mountain, then directly crashing into a nearby dog during the flight. If you don’t have a bird at hand, a handy glider can still let you soar into the sky and immerse yourself in the beauty. You will also spend a lot of time sailing in the tropical ocean on a temporary sailboat. The voyage itself looks interesting, but we can also wait to hijack the turtles and swim on the beautiful ocean floor.
In addition to playing with magical powers, you can also engage in more ordinary activities. Playing ukuleles, exploring tropical forests, and establishing connections with the island’s residents all sound like relaxing ways to pass the time.
Tchia looks like the perfect cure for depression, and we can’t wait to embark on an adventure on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2022.
