The 2021 Game Awards will return as a live event in December this year

The Game of the Year Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley will return as a live event on Thursday, December 9. The event will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live for free on more than 40 streaming media and social platforms. Last year’s event was an online-only event, and despite the restrictions, it received record-breaking ratings.

Apart from the return of The Game Awards Orchestra, there are still very few details about who or what will be in the show. Look forward to the world premiere of a large number of new games, musical performances, and free demos of upcoming games. For your anchor, The Game Awards fully supports joint streaming. Given that we are still in a pandemic, more health and safety protocols will be shared with those who plan to attend in person in the coming weeks.

Last year’s show witnessed The Last of Us Part II winning numerous awards, including the coveted Game of the Year trophy. You can read the full list of 2020 winners here. So which games do you predict will become the best game of the year? Will it be as big a budget as “Hitman 3”, “Return”, “Resident Evil Village” or “Death Cycle”? Maybe it needs two, in front of you, a forgotten city, or an independent darling like the gate of death? Don’t forget games like Metroid Fear, Far Cry 6 and Halo Infinite (launched the day before the show). Tell us your choice in the comments!
