Square Enix came to PS5 and PC forgotten, Formerly known as Project Athia, during the PlayStation Showcase, we got the correct game screen.
The trailer for the story also reveals more details about the protagonist Frey, a young woman who persists despite her rough education in New York City.
The trailer also shows a close observation of the game’s magical combat and dynamic actions, which play a key role in gameplay. By playing the role of Frey, you will learn to use dozens of different types of magic and cast powerful spells as you travel through the land of Athia. Your mission will take you through various environments where you will use magic-enhanced parkour to move you in a fast and smooth way.
In the trailer, the characters you will meet and interact with are shown. These include Cuff, voiced by actor Jonathan Keck (Stargirl), your magical sentient bracelet. The cuffs will help you browse the scenery.
It also introduces Tanta Sila, the evil ruler, the most powerful and powerful Tanta or matriarch of Athia. She is performed and voiced by actress and musician Janina Gavankar (True Love is Blood). It was also announced that Keala Settle (The Greatest Showman) and Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) appeared as Johedy and Auden. They were fellow Athenians who met and assisted Frey on her journey.
As previously reported, Lunimous Prductions collaborated with Gary Whitta (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), the author who conceived the original concept. The team also worked with writer/director Amy Hennig (Uncharted series), who developed the story concept in 2019.
Other contributors to the game include the main writers of the Forspoken story and script: Allison Rymer (Shadowhunters) and Todd Stashwick (Devil Inside). BAFTA award-winning composers Bear McCreary (God of War (2018) and TV series The Walking Dead) and Garry Schyman (BioShock series) created the soundtrack.
Forspoken will be released on PS5 and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store in the spring of 2022.
