Often overshadowed by the latest generation, the game is still being built and released for PlayStation 4. After showing how Horizon Forbidden West looks and works on PS5, Guerrilla Games gave the world a glimpse of what Aloy’s next adventure will look like on PlayStation. The previous Sony console.
In a tweet, Guerrilla provided four screenshots of Forbidden West running on PlayStation 4 hardware. Although it did not say whether the capture came from a PS4 amateur or a PS4 Pro, the perspective on display was still amazing. Look at the dense jungle flora, a mechanical bird hovering overhead, a desolate desert settlement, towering glory, and Aloy strolling through the pond and riding on a Strider that looks like a horse.
These images do look great, yes, I’m sure, if you put them next to the PS5 counterpart, you can be picky about what details may be missing, or how far the LOD is drawn. But instead, we will preview rare PS4 visual effects and celebrate their own advantages. If the performance of the game is as successful as these stills, then before the release of Horizon Forbidden West on February 18, the previous generation of PlayStation users may not feel the pressure to find the elusive PS5.
