Our last day (also known as the outbreak day) kicked off on the weekend. As with the celebrations of previous years, fans of the acclaimed Naughty Dog series are also looking forward to exciting new announcements. So Neil Druckmann, the creative director/writer of The Last of Us, talked about the upcoming HBO adaptation game on Twitter. Moreover, in the process of doing so, he let us see the TV show for the first time.
Druckman’s tweet read: “When I first saw them appear on the set in full costumes, my reaction was: “Oh my God! It’s Joel and Ellie! HBO’s adaptation of Naughty Dog The Last of Us is moving at full speed! Can’t wait to show you more (from all our projects!)!”
The trailer shows Joel and Ellie in the clearing looking at the wreckage of a crashed plane. Joel put on his classic button-down shirt, and Allie exchanged her in-game T-shirt for a red hoodie. Waiting for them to surpass their relatively safe vantage point remains to be seen, but it is safe to assume that the plane will be full of infected people. God of War: Ragnarok writer Alana Pierce perfectly expressed the buzz surrounding this photo in her tweet reply, “I have never been so excited to see two people behind me in my life.”
In an interview earlier this year, Druckman explained that the HBO team is more interested in staying true to the core of the game series, rather than focusing on minor details such as character costumes:
“We discussed in detail that the first season of the “The Last of Us” series will be the first game,” Druckman said. “As for the superficial things, for example, should a character wear the same plaid shirt or the same red shirt? They may or may not appear in it; it is not important for us to understand who these people are and the core of their journey . Things are sometimes very close. It’s interesting to see my dialogue from the game in the HBO script. Sometimes, since we are dealing with different media, they will diverge greatly for better results.”
HBO The last of us Supported by star-studded actors and staff including Pedro Pascal (Mandalorian), Bella Ramsey (game of Thrones), Anna Tove (Mind hunter), Nico Parker (Dumbo), Merle Dandridge (The Last Of Us video game), and Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate). Craig Messing (Chernobyl) And Neil Druckmann are hosting this show.
