The Lost Ark’s Solution to Europe’s Ridiculous Queue: A Whole New Server Zone
success lost ark Never a problem, but its size seems to surprise everyone — including Western publisher Amazon Games and developer Smilegate.
Through pre-sale and early access, Lost Ark attracted more than 500,000 players in one day. Pressure was mounting on a good public launch on Friday, with Amazon having to delay it by a few hours to ensure it could accommodate the expected surge of new players.
But that’s not enough.Lost Ark reaches stunning peak 1,325,305 players Over the weekend, queues are getting longer and thousands of players are stuck waiting for their turn to play. The queue can last for hours.
This is most prevalent in Europe, where Lost Ark seems to be more popular than North America and other regions. To help with this, Amazon not only added a new batch of servers, but also a whole new region in Europe.
message is through The official website of the gameAmazon confirmed that the new region will be separate from Central Europe – the only existing collection of servers on the continent.
“Due to the architecture of the game, this is the only way to accommodate more players in Europe, so this is a joint effort between Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG,” the post explains.
While this is great news for players who have yet to actually create a character and join the fun, it unfortunately means that those who have already created a character will not be able to enjoy cross-regional play with their friends on the Central European server. This also applies to other region-wide functions, as the new cluster will effectively be its own region. Things like royal crystals and silver balances will not be shared with existing European clusters.
Amazon hasn’t said when we can expect the new region to roll out, only that it’s working 24/7 to get it up and running.
