The next Baldur’s Gate 3 patch is the biggest patch to date, adding the “Equipable Salami”
Development of Baldur’s Gate 3 continues, and Larian announced that Patch 6 will be its “largest ever.” This will be a download of about 60GB, of course some of them will overwrite the original files, so don’t expect the installation size to jump that much.
What’s in Patch 6? Larian’s announcement Deliberately vague, but did say “If you attend EGX in London this week, you will get an exclusive preview…with new playable courses. Who is ready to perform magic?” This suggests that the wizarding profession is a possible addition , Because it’s the most amazing of the options that haven’t been added yet in D&D 5E.
Patch 6 will also include, uh, equipable salami. This is an Easter egg reference Interactive LARP Larian ran away in the last live broadcast from Hell, which sounds like the kind of thing that happens in a typical D&D game. If you allow, the player will use any ridiculous object as a weapon or a tool to disarm traps. “Yes,” Larian’s blog post added on the topic of salami, “they can be dual wielding.”
The next group from hell is clearly “coming soon” and will “learn more about what’s new in Patch 6.” Obviously, a new class and some salami add up to less than 60GB, so there must be a lot to say.
Whenever this patch arrives, it will be another patch that is not compatible with the previous save game. You must either start over or join the beta branch to keep the old patches, and there is a Instructions on how to do this. Larian hopes that “Baldur’s Gate 3” will end early access in 2022.
