The next patch from Returnal fixes some bugs, audio and UI issues, and more.

The next patch for Returnal will be released on Monday, June 14th.

Housemarque will be released Returns Applying patch 1.4.0 that day fixes some bugs along with audio and UI issues.

In addition to the above fixes, the patch also makes some difficulty adjustments to all biomes for more balanced gameplay with respect to enemies, bosses, and weapons.

It also adds support for playing certain Act1 and Act2 trophies, retroactively awards non-playable trophies, and adds locations where Scout Logs 9, 34, 35, and 46 appear more often.

  • Audio: Added DualSense haptics when using Icarian Grapnel

  • Audio: Improved dynamic range recommendation system

  • Audio: Allows users to override dynamic range recommendations

  • Audio: Allows the user to change the audio output from the game menu

Game balance

  • Balance: Fixed various bugs when certain artifacts, parasites, consumables, and certain malfunctions could occur early in the game.

  • Balance: No longer receive parasites as a reward when a player takes revenge on a corpse

  • Balance: Enemies, Weapons, Boss-Adjusting the difficulty of all biomes for a more balanced gameplay experience

Other bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Hyperion could drop a key out of reach

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the office to disappear if the player used the Reconstructor during combat.

  • Fixed an issue where weapons that were scanned but not collected could not be found in the biome

  • Fixed an issue where Selene could jump an unreasonably long distance

  • Fixed multiple issues where Selene could be trapped in a room

  • Fixed a rare freeze issue when teleporting with Crimson Waste

  • Fixed an issue where the frame rate would occasionally drop when using the Electropylon Driver

  • Performance improvements, crash fixes, and several minor bug fixes
