Now Metroid Dread is finally in the hands of Nintendo Switch users around the world, and the sales of the previous “Metro Warrior” series of games on other hardware have increased significantly.
Due to the virtual console product on Wii U, Metroid Fusion was the last mainline series item released for Game Boy Advance in 2002, and it currently ranks first in the UK eShop sales rankings. Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA’s remake of the original Metroid) followed closely at number two, with the Metroid Prime trilogy and Super Metroid at number 7 and 9 respectively.
As for the 3DS e-shop, Metroid: The Return of Sams is a remake of “Metroid II: The Return of Sams” in 2010, ranking No. 3.
Metroid Dread is now available for Nintendo Switch and is reportedly the fastest-selling Metroid game in the UK. It’s great to see Samus Aran back in the spotlight and get the attention she deserves.
