There are a lot of potions games brewing right now

There are several games you can play this fall, and they’re all named “Potions” — something. They’re all about cauldrons and brewing magic potions in a way, but they’re also slightly different analog sub-genres. There’s medieval witchcraft and modern witch entrepreneurship, and even large potions pipelines.

I’ve been following a few of them over the years and I still Try to mix them together. Seriously, any time I’ve written about a potion-brewing game this year, I feel honored to make a joke and say no, it’s not like another one I’ve written about. Don’t worry, even if all the names start to work together, we’ll unravel the options in this primer on potions games — probably the least list I’d like to write this year. But the potions game needs clarity.
