Steam next superstar It’s now underway, just like the June event, there are hundreds (no exaggeration, Hundreds) Free demos of upcoming games, you can download and try them now.
Most Steam Next Fest demos are only available from October 1st to October 7th, so if you want to view some cool-looking games for free, you only have a small window. Unknowingly this week passed, so download and play some free stuff.
With so many options, it’s hard to know where to start, so we played a bunch on PC Gamer and listed a dozen below that we think are very prominent. Check it out, if you are playing cool this week, please let us know. We are happy to expand our list with some of your favorites.
Wai No.1
this Wai No.1 The demo is completely different from what I have played before. This is a science fiction exploration game. You can control a strange deformed spacecraft to gallop through various alien worlds to find a team of astronauts who send out distress signals. Using the power of momentum, spacecraft can transform as they travel through planets. It can become a ball, pulled on the ground to speed up, and then when launched into the air, it can become a flat disk to glide. The demonstration allowed us to see three strange worlds, all of which are full of extraordinary encounters, from the desolate wasteland full of alien buildings to the turbulent sea where no land can be seen. The Exo One demo has been around for a while, but it’s still an exciting first-sighted tranquil and exhilarating adventure.-Rachel
Exotic gardening
The demo only covered the first two days of the store puzzle simulation game, and it was not long enough because it was very, very good.exist Exotic gardening You run a quiet little plant shop, and strange visitors will patronize with unusual requests. Use your growing knowledge to carefully identify and mark plants based on clues, provide your customers with what they are looking for, and use mysterious hints to explore the map to discover more unusual flora. Don’t forget to pet your black cat, try not to lose your mind, otherwise you really have to piece it together. I am very happy to see more of this content when it launches in 2022.-Chris
encryption
Hearthstone legend takes place in a happy tavern. encryption certainly not. The background of this card game is a dark house, and my opponent’s eyes are in the shadow. “Playing with squirrel cards,” it said more threatening than it should be. The squirrel cannot attack, its only value is to sacrifice a little blood. Blood (and later bones) is necessary to play better cards, such as adders. There are similarities and differences with “Heartstone” or “Hands of Destiny”. The theme of Inscryption is the US border, all canyons and canyons, and my hands are full of wolves and ferrets. The text on the ferret card has changed. “Play together for now,” it said, and then things got stranger. Inscryption is the work of Daniel Mullins Games, the creator of Metatext Bastard Pony Island and Hex, and it promises to do the same as Pony Island to Endless Runners to a comfortable collectible card game-making it so weird and so People are upset, it will pierce your nerves and make your bones creak.-Jodi
Team Galaxy: Terran Headquarters
A capable Starship Troopers RTS in 2021? Confusing. Well, I won’t consider the possibility that this is too difficult-playing RTS games gives me the feeling of the early 2000s, which is really great, and it’s mostly a good way. Team Galaxy: Terran Headquarters It doesn’t feel like my favorite RTS series, Command and Conquer, because you are here to command troops instead of building bases. But it is very suitable for Starship Troopers, let your Fleshhead squad fight against piles of alien bugs. The depth of the battle was deeper than I expected: I had to carefully arrange my troops to maintain a clear line of fire, which became more tricky when I recruited some flamethrower boys who like to work on the front lines. Company of Heroes 3 It’s next year’s big gorgeous RTS, but it’s nice to see some little guys helping keep this type of vitality.——Weiss
Auto City: Behind the Wheel
If you are looking for a deep driving simulation game that does not melt your GPU like Forza, then please enter Auto City And fasten your seat belt. Don’t let the bulky graphics fool you, it is a very deep simulation game with realistic physics, day and night cycles, progress, and many vehicles to drive and tasks to be completed. Transport passengers by taxi or bus, transport goods by truck or trailer, refuel, change parts, or just hitchhiker in your personal vehicle. You can use turn signals, headlights with High beams, honk, if you violate traffic rules, the police will even chase you. Unlike many car games, you can get out of the car, walk around, and even sleep at home to fast forward the clock. This demo contains a lot of entertainment, and you can also register for a beta version. -Chris
Short
In the spirit of Inside and Limbo, Short It is a surreal and fascinating platform puzzle game. I don’t know much about what happened in it. In a good way! I know this: I don’t have a head. After running, jumping, and pushing big rocks around a strange cave for a while, when a strange machine broke through the wall and squashed a ball with a stone, I got a head. But my new head needs to breathe, so I refilled the air with these small cans scattered around, which can also be used as preservation points. In addition, I have to hold my new head in my hands, which means I sometimes need to drop it to the ground to climb or push or pull things. Look, bears are strange. But it is very neat. Although I just got a new detachable head, I am very determined to keep it safe.-Chris
Tunic
Reminiscent of hob’s isometric exploration game, Tunic Follow the adventures of a little fox in a big world full of dangers, secrets and treasures. It’s undeniable, but don’t expect to make many friends: every elastic, mostly spotted creature I meet in the world is determined to kick my ass (a few succeeded). This was at least partly because I used a stick to protect myself, although the situation improved a lot when I found a sword, which also allowed me to open new paths in the leaves, opening doors and treasures to various new areas. I only have a little knowledge of the game world, but I dig into it very deeply. One note, I said as a person who hates controllers: playing with controllers. Support keyboard control (no mouse), but movement and combat are clearly designed for thumbs and buttons.——Andy
Fallen Ace
Imagine condemnation: the origin of crime, minus the horror and set in a cartoon gangster world, which is full of girls in distress, gray-haired tough guys and old superheroes. That is Fallen Ace, A two-fist first-person comic book called Raymond Chandler, minus racism, but full of fantastic stereotyped dialogue and absurd violence, as well as Mortal Kombat-style punching. This is not an all-out quarrel-there are some slight invisibility that will allow you to solve the problem more quietly, if that is your business-but I had so much fun kicking my ass (in the end, kicking my ass) spent a lot of time Figure out the subtleties. I smashed a man’s ball with a bottle and kicked him into a brick wall-when you can do it, who wants to sneak in? Since the announcement of “Fallen Aces”, I have been looking forward to it. After playing the demo version, my expectations have been even higher.——Andy
Exhausted person
Demo as Exhausted person Makes me laugh several times. It’s not that interesting Stilt guy, Another QWOP-style game about coordinating unruly limbs, but it gets more comedic effects from its premise and animation rigging-its very sleepy protagonist moves like a slug on the wall when he tries to turn over Sometimes twisted like a towel. This is also very strange, like a truly disturbing way: the first act is called “‘It’s Coming”, there is a red poster with “Death” on it, and a project called “Meditation” is completed. After the mission, the camera zoomed in on the protagonist’s hand above the poster. He thought, “The god of death in my hand reminds me of her.” Later, I rescued a tissue box “from the hands of the devil” and noticed that After speaking a long story short to a lamp, “It only answers’impossible’.” It’s like reading a Zen koan in 2666. I haven’t finished reading the demo yet…I want to know what household items the devil will seduce next?–Taylor
Monster war
Monster war It is a turn-based strategy game with huge monsters that will trample on buildings and have the beauty of old school comics. This has almost been sold to me in the game. This demo lets you play as the mayor of Floatio. It has gone through several stages. An unfortunate place is a gathering place for various menacing monsters. As the mayor, you need to consolidate your defenses by deploying tanks and bombers to scare away monsters. Each round you will reward money for each building that still exists, which will be used to build more bases and buy more troops. You realize that the trick of the game is to kill the damn thing by sacrificing your troops and inflicting enough damage or hoping that it gets bored and runs away, thereby diverting the monsters from the civilian buildings. Just like Into The Breach, you know exactly where the monster is going and are forced to plan accordingly. It also looks neat and tidy. In future levels, you will fight with huge mechas and lasers, which is simply icing on the cake. A huge monster cake.

Forgive my father
There is no shortage of retro-revival FPS games on Steam now. So far, “Forgive My Father” is one of the best games. It has a key to open the door, a zombie that explodes into a bucket of blood in the roar of your double-barreled shotgun, and a secret path to the bonus. The clear art and thick black outline of everything around reminded me of many fallen aces (there was even an Easter egg for the game in the first room of the demo), but Forgive my father The absence of thieves and the more classic German headquarters may be wrong. The gun feels pretty good, but at the beginning of the demonstration, I was a little bored with the endless narrow corridors. Even if I didn’t miss any shots, it was surprisingly easy to be forced to death by a large group of people. ——Morgan
Nancy
“Do you think you are God because you went shopping?” Part of the reason why the IKEA guy (comedian Scott Seth) became popular for his editing Angrily talk back to annoying customers It’s because many of us have been there. retail. This is a nightmare. Nancy The result will feel very cathartic. Working at the hellish Megamart counter, you can only say that Nancy is negative. To rude and stubborn clients, to your team building boss, to your exhausted colleagues. Of course, “no” is not always the best way to say (you can say nothing), and you won’t always get what you want. But it feels good. No, you cannot return gift cards that expired seven years ago. No, you cannot get a refund without a receipt. No, you can’t talk to the manager. No no no. Do not.-Chris
