With the start of the Tokyo Game Show today, publisher Prime Matter unveiled the first game screen of Gungrave GORE. The overrun action seems to be going well.
The trailer below provides an expanded view of the movie trailer shown earlier, revealing new scenes before transitioning to anti-hero Grave doing what he does best. In other words, use his pistol and weaponized deformed coffin to chop down undead targets. Gungrave GORE looks very crazy, which may not make fans happier.
Prime Matter also announced that former Platinum Games and Tango Gameworks designer Ikumi Nakamura is developing the game. You may remember her lively game developer in Ghostwire: Tokyo’s cute and viral presentation during Bethesda’s E3 2019 presentation. Nakamura was the creative director of Ghostwire: Tokyo before leaving Tango Gameworks in 2019. She also served as the chief artist of The Evil Within series, Bayonetta and Okami, and established her own independent studio this year. It is not clear what her exact role in Gungrave GORE is, except that she works with developer Iggymob to help realize its vision. Senior editor Blake Hester recently interviewed Nakamura and wrote a detailed biography about her fascinating journey in the gaming industry, which you can read here.
Gungrave GORE is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and will be launched in 2022.
