Jeepers Creeper, We Know Total War: Warhammer 3 (opens in new tab)The Immortal Empire map is absolutely massive: but actually seeing it is something else entirely.in a new video posted to YouTube (opens in new tab)the Total War series’ raucous narrator narrates a 13-minute flyover of Warhammer’s fantasy world.
For a strategy game of this scope, complexity and visual quality, it’s frankly an astounding map. This is something you would never expect to work on or assume will never exist. I know it’s in beta, but Immortal Empire fulfills a game design dream that the developers at Creative Assembly have been working on for over six years. The trailer’s response shows this, as it rolls over character and soundtrack themes from the three full games and dozens of previous DLCs.
Either way, the video swoops from place to place in Warhammer Fantasy’s vast old world and beyond. It shows the diabolical Southern and Northern Badlands, Southern Badlands, Eastern Badlands, Great Huaxia, Norsca, Albion, Dark Elf Nagaroth, Ulthuan, Lizardmen Territory Lustria, Sweeping Southern Desert, Badlands, and north into Bretonnia and the Empire. In the official description, in case you missed it on the flyover, Creative Assembly explicitly states that the map has “86 legendary lords. 23 races. 533 regions. 278 starting factions.”
Last month, we looked at the entire map, but only now Creative Assembly has shown the map’s flyover in-game. Here’s what you see from above in the video:
