Two new hypnotic space-related games are about to make you nostalgic

Publisher No More Robots and developer Tendershoot held a Hypnospace Next demo today, revealing the next step in the Hypnospace Outlaw series, launching not one but two new games this year.

First up is the spiritual successor to Hypnospace, called Dreamsettler, set in an alternate reality in the early 2000s. In Dreamsetler, you will play as an Internet private investigator trying to solve problems for other users on the Somnius Sleepnet system. There will be all sorts of familiar references when navigating a realistic version of this shift in which the web is booming. You’ll experience early versions of social media, listen to alternative-reality genres, and explore a version of the ’00s Internet that is very similar to our own network but has some anomalies. Although, No More Robots hints that it’s going to get even weirder, as it’s going to be darker.

Also announced was Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer, a spin-off from the original Hypnospace Outlaw starring ZANE_ROCKS_14 or Zane Lofton, who is well known in the fictional real world. In 2022, 37-year-old Zane, now a DollarSaver manager, discovered a game he made when he was 14 called Slayers X. Naturally, he decided to re-release his baby boomer shooter (much like Doom) in 2022 with some upgrades.

Both games are scheduled to be released sometime this year and will be coming to consoles and PC, but neither game has a specific date.
