ability: Marvel’s Avengers hasn’t had a stellar post-launch success since its release in 2020. On the bright side, Crystal Dynamics supports games like Battle for Wakanda and Spider-Man with solid expansions and character drops. Despite all this intriguing content, a new game-breaking bug on PlayStation 5 could negatively impact the enjoyment of the superhero title by the remaining player base. The bug in question would cause Marvel’s Avengers to crash every time it loads, and the only way to fix it is to delete your progress.
In the meantime, here’s a workaround for some players – note that it resets your campaign progress:

A recent tweet from the official Marvel Avengers Twitter account (pictured above) talks about the current quick fix:
“Our team is continuing to investigate an issue causing some PS5 players to crash. We believe we have identified a fix that is currently being implemented/tested. We hope to have more news tomorrow morning and will continue to provide you with updates.
In the meantime, here’s a workaround for some players – please note that it resets your campaign progress: go to the action and reset your regroup campaign progress. As long as you’re a young Kamala on A-Day, force-close the game from the PS home screen, and you should be able to launch the Avengers program. “
according to IGN, commenters pointed out that the fix works and only for story progression – playable characters and purchased microtransactions are not affected. However, a large group of players are still frustrated by the prospect of having their campaigns removed. Combine that with the fact that many PS5 players missed out on this week’s Double XP event (which ends today), and it makes all the more sense that things are looking particularly bleak. Hopefully the bug will be patched soon.
