We won’t see more dead space until sometime next year
At the end of August, Electronic Arts allowed us to see the restart of dead space for the first time, paying special attention to its popular new slicing technology. “The body destruction technology we are developing allows us to actually remove the flesh from the enemy’s bones, so that you not only have a good understanding of the blood…but also how much damage I have suffered. What did you do to your opponent,” Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola said at the time.
It definitely looks promising. Unfortunately, it seems that the first time we see it will also be our last in a long time. In the update released today, developer EA Motive stated that it is “head down” in development, and we won’t see it again until sometime in 2022.
EA Motive Community Manager Caden House wrote: “Everything we show is in progress, which means we will be committed to Isaac’s suits, Ishimura’s aesthetics and atmosphere.” Reddit“We are working hard to ensure that it has the proper level of wear. For example, this is an early work clip that shows some of the ways the team will give Ishimura a worn look.”
“We will now immerse ourselves in the game and take some time to review all the ideas, theories and suggestions you shared with us. We look forward to showing you how you helped shape the game next year, as we develop it further!”
There is currently no sign of a release date for the dead space restart, but to be fair, it still has a long way to go. As comfort, Motive also shared a short video for fans, as House Take it“Point out that Shicun looks a bit’too clean’ on the stream.”
