Look, I love Persona’s tried and true narrative DNA – A group of teenage outcasts call on their mysterious alter ego to protect the world from evil forces while juggling hobbies, romance and lessons. Still, I’m ready for Atlus to bring the mature themes of the series into the adult world.
For the writer’s room, I have two solid suggestions: keep the traditional school setting, but give us a college campus with actors in their 20s. Alternatively, a more unconventional route might push players into the white-collar world. Nothing says “evil supernatural conspiracy” like a stifling office job, including estranged cubicles and oversighted managers. Let us unlucky a bunch of young professionals, introduce them to a series of badass characters, and let’s run free in a twisted, highly corporate Japan.
