Where to pre-order Metroid Dread Standard and Special Editions

One of Nintendo’s greatest achievements with E3 Direct was the Metroid Dread. This is the first 2D Metroid in almost 20 years. It’s not Metroid Prime 4, but it should be over until we know the details of the title. You can book Metroid Dread now from the link below.

Pre-order for Metroid Dread Standard and Special Edition

Metroid Dread is the five mainline entries for 2D Metroid games and will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2021. Developed by Mercury Steam, the same studio responsible for Metroid: Samus Returns for 3DS.

We learned a lot during the first release of Metroid Dread, as well as the enhanced gameplay footage shown in the Nintendo Treehouse presentation. This is a direct sequel to the 2002 Game Boy Advance title, Metroid Fusion, so we need to close the story gap in the main timeline.

It’s still a side-scrolling shooter with all the actions you’d expect from a 2D Metroid, but with the addition of a new enemy named EMMI, the way the map moves has changed significantly.

The enemy is essentially a robot stalker who relentlessly chases you in a particular area. If caught by EMMI, it will be killed immediately and sent back to the nearest spawn.

If you’re excited about Metroid dreads, it’s a good idea to carefully consider which version of the game you’ll get. In addition to the standard version, there is a special collector’s version of the Metroid Dread. This is a must-have for avid Metroid fans.

Pre-orders for Metroid: Samus Returns are sold out soon, so it’s a good idea to book now.
