“Witcher: Ronin” comic crowdfunding revenue of nearly 800,000 US dollars
There is no doubt that The Witcher: Ronin’s Kickstarter campaign will be a success-it achieved its goal within a few hours of going live. Considering the wizard’s huge fan base and CD Projekt’s almost unlimited financial resources, the whole thing made me feel completely unnecessary, but this did not seem to inhibit the enthusiasm of the supporters, who invested a lot of money in the project.
The event is now over 678,036 Euro-Only 800,000 US dollars short-The pledge amount is 7.5 times its original goal, enough to pay some good bonuses, including variant covers, new short stories, “premium covers” and The Witcher: Ronin’s Fable. A black and white “classic comic version” of the main story will also be included in all promises.
The Witcher: Ronin-A Hard Copy Collector’s Edition Manga’s Kickstarter campaign has ended! Thank you for your support. Not only did we fund the project within 2 hours and 16 minutes, but we also reached 750% of the original goal! Thanks! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/jKFidMgfgXSeptember 27, 2021
The Witcher: Ronin will be available for purchase through traditional retail channels, but it will not be as fashionable as the version offered through Kickstarter. The basic “Standard Wanderer” edition will include the hardcover version of the book, as well as all applicable unlocked content, while the “Deluxe Wanderer” will also include a poster. This is why CD Projekt chose to conduct a crowdfunding campaign for this book, even though it is a multi-billion dollar company.
“We want to see if this new concept of “The Witcher” will arouse the interest of fans-if so, see how special we can make this collector’s edition,” the event said. “The more support for manga, the more amazing new artists we can recruit to create amazing works of variant art-all of which demonstrate the uniqueness of this Japanese-inspired wizard story.”
“Kickstarter is an amazing channel that allows us to directly engage with fans and give you the opportunity to inspire the project itself! We believe Kickstarter will help “The Witcher: Ronin” reach its full potential and give this concept the justice it deserves. We I hope you agree and are as excited to see the development of this project as we are!”
Maybe I naively insist that Kickstarter is the vision of providing a fundraising platform for the motivated upstarts who really need money, but I think that similar results can be achieved through simple surveys, or CD Projekt can be based on the response to the first one. The collector’s version. The Witcher: Ronin seems to be an interesting character. Obviously people have a lot of desire for it, but in this case, the necessity of Kickstarter campaigns discouraged me.
Variation cover art is Very But cool:
