With much hype, Final Fantasy 6 Pixel Remake will be released later this month
Final Fantasy VI’s Pixel Remake finally has a February 23rd release date.
Square Enix announced in December that it would arrive sometime this month, saying it needed “final touches while finishing development of the game.” Time to enjoy it – Final Fantasy VI is my favorite early game in the series, and is widely regarded as one of the best entries overall. For many, it was a game that was close at hand, but it never got a particularly good re-release. To be fair, not much Final Fantasy has. Look at you, ugly font.
This is the last entry to accept pixelated spruce. The first five Final Fantasy games received pixel remakes last year, the latest being Final Fantasy 5, which was released on November 10. They look good enough, even if they still seem to suffer from the same bugs that have plagued older games with previous refresh attempts.
It’s not just another wild chase, it’s time to leave. Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remastered will launch on Steam and mobile on February 23rd PST/GMT. In the meantime, enjoy the rearrangement of Terra’s theme. Pre-order: https://t.co/MOlhSpxdED pic.twitter.com/Z4N9TD0bNEFebruary 9, 2022
To show off its upcoming release, the Final Fantasy Twitter page removed the game’s iconic opening sequence as well as a rearrangement of Terra’s Theme. This got me personally hyped, and judging by the reactions, so did everyone else. Let’s just hope that complaints about the lack of a console version don’t lead to this game being bombarded with reviews too.
