Wonderful moments of PC games: Make your base look good in the Age of Empires
Wonderful moments in PC games A bite-sized celebration of some of our favorite game memories.
When you have not completed the layout of the trade zone, nothing is more inconvenient than the presence of an enemy with a large army. Yes, Age of Empires is technically a real-time strategy game. Technically, It should take about 30-60 minutes to complete a game, and both parties should work hard to win. But from my first contact with this series until today, sometimes I am not interested in it.
Sometimes I just want to build a beautiful castle.
When I was born in a fresh town center and a handful of villagers at the beginning of each game, I was excited about how I would change the landscape. I look forward to the growth of every age, because it will reflect the progress my people have made from simple wooden houses to comfortable stone houses, bathed in the magnificence of the expanding industry around them. I spent a lot of time thinking about what their small life there was like, and some small adjustments I could make to improve their daily lives.
Of course, I cannot put all my houses too close together. Maybe this might slow down the speed of enemy attackers who cross the wall, but imagine having to live closely with neighbors. Everyone knows that the snoring of lumberjacks is very loud, and we are a peaceful grain harvesting family!
I hope that people can go to work easily, not only because it improves my resource acquisition efficiency, but also because I don’t want anyone to go too far, otherwise they may feel foot pain.Arrange everything as neatly as possible on the grid, plus some wider boulevards and reserved green spaces to make it easier to move around and Increase the aesthetic appeal of each block.
It makes sense to have the blacksmith close to the barracks. If someone breaks the sword during training, they can quickly cross the street to find a substitute!
Of course, these will not have any impact on the game mechanics. If you attribute all these citizens to their sterile, code-driven nature, they are just robots with no emotions, and they will do what I say without complaint, even if it means being eaten by wolves or carrying numbers. Miles of wooden trusses on foot. But where is the fun in this? If you don’t treat it as a real place full of real people with real needs, all the art and sound efforts to make the Empire Age map feel like a developing civilization will be in vain.
These walls are not only to stop my opponents when I build the miracle, but also to protect the Mason family, whose residence is close to the edge of the city. This church in the woods serves the tenacious and pious woodcutter and a small group of archers who work in shifts to protect them in the guard tower. I think at some point I should consider building an army to conquer the ugly and crude cities that my opponents may spit out without considering aesthetics. But first we need to choose a perfect location for this pagoda to make the most of the energy flow along the river…
