WWE 2K22-First look at how the visual concept repackaged its annual wrestling simulation

Fans of WWE know that the company has been in chaos lately. Dozens of roster cuts this year not only made fans uneasy about the long-term fate of their favorite superstar, but they also questioned the status of WWE 2K22. This is the first wrestling simulation game since the unpopular 2K20 in 2019, and the game has abandoned the fall release window that the series usually launches in March 2022. The extra time seems to allow Visual Concepts time to perfect some reservations, so what can fans expect? Although Visual Concepts retains most of its information until its previously announced January unveiling, it does provide a glimpse of the features and improvements it has concocted so far.

To hear that Visual Concepts rebuilt the WWE 2K engine from the ground up, the late fans may be pleased. This means brand new animations and redesigned mobile lists, including 30,000 return attacks and 5,000 new attacks. The control scheme has also been thoroughly reformed, with the aim of making it easy for anyone to pick up, while packing depth for experienced grabbers. In addition, Visual Concepts promises to improve the control of the movement, while the overall feel is smoother.

Because Visual Concepts uses the same character scanning and rendering technology as the NBA 2K series, the graphics are successful. The result is that superstars look better than ever. Visual Concepts also consulted with the WWE show host to make the presentation as immersive and realistic as possible on TV, such as adding new camera angles. I have recorded several hours of new comment lines, hoping to reduce the frequency of repeated lines.

WWE games are both about modes and games. Visual Concepts did not discuss the types of games in 2K22, but did discuss some other destinations players can explore:

My general manager: The popular model is back and, like the previous iteration, allows players to book shows, select superstars, manage contracts, etc.

Universe mode: As the main content of the series, 2K22’s universe model promises to better control how players manage brand, PPV, competition, etc. than ever before.

2K display mode: The playable documentary of WWE 2K has always been the highlight of the series. It allows players to learn about the career or historical periods of legendary wrestlers, such as Stone Cold and the Women’s Revolution, by playing key matches and watching well-made video packages provided by the WWE production team. The 2K22 presentation seems to be focused on Rey Mysterio’s career.

My camp: The new members of the series allow players to create and manage their own stables. Build a team to compete with the Four Horsemen, nWo or Bullet Club by recruiting superstars of your choice, and then increase their inventory by completing regular challenges and special events.

My rise: this The new version of MyCareer presents a choice-driven adventure about guiding WWE prospects from rookies to major events to Hall of Fame members. Superstars can be male or female, and the branch of the storyline depends on your decision.

Creation kit: Although 2K20 lacks creative options, the promise of 2K22 will be greater than ever. Although Visual Concepts did not reveal many details, it did point out that the game includes more body types to be as representative as possible. Those who don’t have the time to spend hours building the perfect superstar can use the new character creator, which basically provides a pre-built template to speed up the creation process. There is no news about whether popular features such as the creation of arenas, portals, or tournaments will return.

Finally, let us discuss the list. The popular joke about WWE’s months-long surprise release carnival is that no one will stay and play in 2K22. Although we don’t have a complete list of wrestlers, we can confirm the following superstars based on today’s footage and previous videos:

  • Apollo crew
